The editors must be well-known researchers in their field, with an excellent record of publication in peer-reviewed journals and of reviewing manuscripts. Please note that Editorial Board Members (EBMs) do not have any advantage in publishing their own manuscripts in our journal.
Our policy for EBM-authored articles is the same as for other submissions: fair, blinded peer review that is as transparent and rigorous as possible, so that the reviewer does not know the identity of the author, and vice versa.
We believe that our policy is fair to other authors competing for journal space and to our editors and their colleagues. As a publisher of medical research, we strive to be thorough and honest in order to maintain standards for our journal’s peer-review system and to protect it from any potential or systematic abuse by anyone, including our editorial board members.
